Adding Chemicals During Shock Period

Postby Jack Sparrow » Tue 31 Jul, 2007 10:46

Is it ok to add other chemicals such as ph/alk increasers/decreasers, etc. while there are superchlorination levels in the pool?

Thanks

Yes, but the pH test will not measure correctly at shock levels of chlorine (> 10 ppm FC). So don't try and adjust that. Generally, you don't try and adjust your water chemistry during shocking -- you try and to that before shocking or after the chlorine levels have dropped again. Unless your water chemistry numbers are way out of whack, I'd wait until after you are done shocking.
