white foam on top, clean water underneath

Hi, I just bought a hom ewith a pool and it had been sitting (covered) for 5 months. I took the cover off and there were only a few leaves at the bottom. ( 8-10,000 gallons it is , I think) its 29' X 12" So I swept and vauucmed the floor and put the chemicals in that they had given us. Baquicil? ( non chlorine) I put in an algeacide , sanitizer and a neutralizer according to the directions and it has an inch of whote foam on top that will not go away. My test strip says the ph and (ah I forgot thename of the other on the bottom of the strip) are ok but the algeacide is very low. I thought the foam problem was from the algeacide so I dont want to add more!! pls help..I cant afford someone from apool store to come out to where I live out of town..any suggestions? Thank you,

I've heard of baquicil and certain algaecides combining to create foam. I'd switch to chlorine.
