CYA

Postby topcat » Fri 30 May, 2008 12:42

My pool tests out at 20 ppm for CYA. I purchased a can of HTH granular stablizer and conditioner from my local store but the directions do not tell you how much it will increase the ppm based on how much water you have. Can anyone help me determine how much to use that would bring my pool up to the optimum level?

Thanks in advance,

One pound of pure CYA in 10,000 gallons will raise the CYA by 12 ppm so you can scale accordingly. This is about 2 cups of CYA, though this can vary depending on the granularity of the product.
