no chemicals reading in my crystal clear pool need help

we just got our pool in last year and when we opened this year our water is crystal clear but nothing on the test strips....ph chlorine alkalinity or stabilizer......nothing. we went to the pool company and took a water sample. we where told to use the sping opening kit and shock (2 bags)then start alkalinity.....3 lbs every 4 hours and test. i put 15lbs in after using the opening kit and returned to the pool co the next day with no chemicals registering. then we found out i was shocking with non-chlorine shock so started the shocking all over, 2.5lbs every 2 hours until chlorine noted, first 2.5 lbs registered free chlorine at normal range!, so started alkalinity again, 3lbs every 4 hours.........still only chlorine was noted as we used another 12lbs of alkalinity....3lbs every 4 hours. so we where told to use another 9lbs and put in 4.5lbs and 2 hours later the rest of the 4.5lbs.......again only chlorine registered.........so we where told to do nothing and let the kids swim and return the next day. however in the mean time the chlorine stopped reading.....the chlorinator has tabs in it and is on max. it is working cause the tabs are disolving. so we shocked it again.....2.5lbs and chlorine registered at normal value in 2 hours. kids kept swimming. the next day the chlorine read high.......and today no chlorine reads..........or anything else for that matter!!!! what do i do???

Could be that your chlorine level is really high and is bleaching out the tests.
