Winter water loss

Postby Jaderade » Sun 18 Oct, 2020 13:06

I am a very new pool owner. I have a 24 foot above ground pool. I have noticed some water loss about a quarter inch per day. The pool has a cover on it. Is this normal or should I suspect a leak. Also if there is a leak I know I’ll have to wait till spring should I just keep adding a little water here and there to keep the water level just below the skimmer?

If you have an AGP then any water loss would be noticeable, I would suspect evaporation. You could do a bucket test to check if it's evaporation
Winter rain would keep it topped up depending on where you are and if you winterise
