Hello, I have a Bestway 330 gall/hr filter on my 8' Bestway fast set pool, but it runs like an asthmatic gnat even with a new filter.
Would a 1000 gall/hr filter pump be to too powerful for this size pool or will it improve circulation and filtration.
Is this filter too powerful.

Re: Is this filter too powerful.
Generally you match a pump to the filter so if your pump delivers 330gall/hr or less you are good to go with it
A larger filter is never a problem, it won't improve circulation that is down to the pump but it will improve filtration as it doesn't have to work as hard and you will have less cleaning

It's more beneficial to run water through your filter and slower.

Too much flow will blow stuff by the filter and cause extra pressure and damage
