unexplained holes in pool liner

We have a hole in the edge of our pool liner - no explanation - keeps getting bigger after being patched to the point we can not keep water in the pool -
the liner is not even two years old. Now we are getting holes in other parts of the pool Any suggestions

Did you clear the ground of rocks and sharp objects before setting up pool? When using shock or chlorine tabs, are you ensuring the chemicals don't set on the bottom? That causes vinyl to become brittle. Could a burrowing animal be chewing through from beneath? Are you using care with objects placed into the pool such as sweeper?
