Pool Collapse

What happens when/if a pool collapses? Is it dangerous? If people were in it, could they possibly drown? How far would they travel across the yard or would they and at what rate of speed? Does it happen suddenly or slowly?

I would think it could be very dangerous. My son put his arm on the ring of an Easy Set Pool, the pool collapsed and it shot him across the yard like raging rapids,It did'nt hurt him,just scared him. But could have been very bad for a child. Emptied the pool instantly!
