new filter sending sand into pool

Hi...
we have a new filter that just started sending sand into the pool. We vaccuumed yesterday & woke up to some sand on the bottom. What could this be, it is a new filter?

When you first add sand to a filter, be it a change out or new, you must first backwash for a minimum of five minutes (I would do ten), followed by a good 5 minute rinse. Otherwise you wash all the dirt and tiny particles you don't need into your pool. The sand doesn't come out of the bag clean.

The lateral lines in the pool filter may be broken or improperly installed. If your pool was professionally installed, call the installer.
