Should cement stairs be waterproofed?

My Pool: Inground pool, 12m (l) x 3.5m (w) x 1.5m (D), sand filter, tiled surface

Should cement stairs be waterproofed?

Hi, i have cement stairs leading to a tiled pool. Should the cement stairs be waterproofed? If so can u pls recommend a product to use. I assume pool contractor would have put a waterproof additive in the cement rmix but not 100% sure.
