Losing water fast

I live on long island ive had my 18x40 lazy l pool for 7 yrs... After a 20" snow accumulation i procedded to loose about a foot of water a day, i refilled and still losing about the same... Obvioulsy theres a leak somewhere, could be main drain, light or more likely the liner. My question is in the middle of winter they wont make repairs what do i do in the mean time. I have well water so to keep putting water in will certainly burn out my pump... Do i just met it go and see how much it empties? Will my metal walls collapse?
