Air in system

Postby Lloyd » Sat 09 Dec, 2006 21:43

I have a concrete pool 1 year old. Air is being sucked into the pump and filling the filter which requires to be bled every hour. Have alternatively turned off the skiimer and sump, makes no difference. The water level does not drop apart from evaporation (very hot over here!).
Cannot see any damp areas unfortunately most pipes under concrete
Any help thanks

An air leak is always a difficult one. You need to check all you fittings in front of the pump, if it were between the pump and filter you would generally find it pushing water out not sucking air in. Check the front of the pump is sealed properly and not having the air sucked in. Any valves could also be checked and maybe tightened. See how you go with that.

Spray some soap solution on all your suction fittings on pump & valves than turn pump on & off real fast, & see if bubbbles up at certain area.
