filer leak

My filter is leaking from the backwash port even when it is operating in the "filter" mode. Why is this occuring and what can I do to stop it. I am losing a lot of water.

This is occurring because your "spider gasket" is bad/ripped/torn on your multi-port valve. You need to replace it.

To prevent this in the future, always move the handle in one direction. Even if you have to back just one notch, go all the way around instead.
