HELP!!!! please!!! I HAVE A LEAK AND NO MONEY TO FIX IT!

Postby cherylg » Fri 17 Aug, 2007 08:29

I have an inground concrete pool with a Hayward pump and cartridge filter. I did the dye test on all the returns and then let the water go as far down as it could which is like an 1/2 inch below skimmer - there is some water in bottom of skimmer - not much.

I do not see anything - ANY SUGGESTIONS??????

Not to moan and groan, but I am a single parent with no extra funds for a pool tech - PLEASE HELP - cHERYL

Do you see any wetspots in the yard or leaking pipes or connections near your pool pad & pump? The leak might not be in the pool itself.

to start out fill pool up normal and turn everything off for 2 days.

If the water level goes down you then know its in the pool and not the equipment area.

Then if it is going down wait until you see water stays level.

This can tell you where the leak is meaning:

If it seems to stop below skimmer, it could be skimmer leak.

If it stops below pool light

If it stops below return lines

My personal favorite pool also has spa, do the same to spa

If the below ground water is high in your area do not let water go to low or pool can rise out of ground and cause major damage normally shallow end.

If pool holds water your then checking equipment pump/motor, filter, heater. If holds water and equipment is good, probably pipes going from equipment to pool. There are leak specialist for pools they just charge alot.
