Hayward Side Mount Sand Filter (S244S) leaking from the top

Hayward Side Mount Sand Filter (S244S) leaking from the top air release valve.
1. I have replaced the o-ring several times, with and without teflon tape, with and with out silicon lubrication for swimming pool o-rings.
2. I have replaced the air release valve.
3. I changed the release valve to a more substantial valve with a pressure gauge found on the S244SV.
4. I have replaced the whole dome with a new dome.

There are air bubbles in the Hayward super pump. The air is being sucked in from the low pressure side plumbing. If the air that is sucked in builds up in the sand filter then it will blow out the top through the release valve. So
1. I replaced the o-ring on the drain plug in the front of the pump (low pressure side).
2. Used adhesive silicone chaulk to seal all PVC fitting in front of pump.

The sand filter top air release valve still leaks and the air bubbles are still getting in to the pump.
Any ideas, suggestions or criticisms are truely welcomed
