Paint Removal

Postby Remedy234 » Mon 06 Apr, 2020 14:03

Hi
I’m in the UK, our pool is concrete and painted with chlorinated rubber paint. It’s time to resurface the floor and wondered if the paint has to be removed before we resurface? If so what’s the best method of removal? Our local sandblasting company said it would just bounce off of the rubber paint !

you need to use a 7 inch grinder makita or rigid etc. use 40 grit sanding pads and sand the whole pool.
no need to sandblast! get another person to help and you can do it in a day or 2

You can sometimes clean the pads with a lump of polypropylene plastic, some plastic chopping boards are made of PP.
