Repairing Concrete Wall
We are replacing the coping stones around the pool and the top part of the wall have broken away in places around an inch. My plan is to fit the new coping then back fill the wall so as are able to tile. I intend to use a normal cement. Would this need any kind of tanking applied before tiling? It’s not so deep as to be constantly under water, it’s above the water line.

Re: Repairing Concrete Wall
I certainly don’t know, but it sounds like you are lucky it is above the waterline, which I would assume would eliminate any cause for worry.
I wonder how you’d do the concrete after the coping/top blocks have been applied. I would think that concrete repair would need to be done prior while the coping is off, but I have no idea. I do want to learn this though because I have a similar issue, but mine is clearly a bit below the top line or at least when the pool level gets too high anyway.
