I woke up one night to find that the water had drained to below the weir water level (this may have been over the course of a day). i refilled the pool to try and see what the problem could be. i switched between the various filter positions but nothing was happening. when in backwash i could not hear the water flow out as i would normally do. i did however notice this

i decided let me first try replacing the gasket. after i replaced the gasket the flow of water when in backwash was now gushing out

have i misfit the gasket or has this merely showed the problem is more serious than in the first video? or something else altogether?

Re: filter spitting out water
That looks like a Quality Supaflo filter from South Africa and that fitting screws into another fitting inside the filter body
It's either not tight enough, not sealing or broken
If it's OK try reassembling it with silicon on the "O" ring and leave overnight to set
My fitting broke and I had to get a new one FS-10 which was OK when they were Waterlinx but Fluidra took them over and things got difficult

Re: filter spitting out water
How did you tighten it, by hand?
Water pump pliers are good, make sure you get a pair with wide enough jaws
Also be careful to not overtighten or get silicon on the thread as it jump threads being plastic
