Return hose

Hello I'm new to this forum, and this is my first post.

My return valve broke so I had to buy a new one. I went to my local pool shop, to get one. They said it was a DoughBoy valve and they said that they didn't have the exact one but they did say that they had a similar one. Long story slightly shorter, I cannot get the hose from the sand filter returning the water back to the pool to stay on! Its absolutely driving me mad. I can literally watch it blow the hose off with in minutes.

At first I thought the new valve didn't have enough grab. Like it was too slick. so I put duct tape on the valve to get it sticky then duct taped the hose to the pvc pipe, then put TWO hose clamps on the hose to keep it from coming off.

IT STILL COMES OFF!!

Please -o- please let me know what to do. has anyone ran into this problem.

On a side bar, I just replaced the sand in the filter. Does that have anything to do with the problem above , like raising the pressure too high so that the hose cannot stay on??
