Stripped threads for polaris hookup

The guy that used to open and close my pool stripped the threads that the Polaris adaptor screws into the
side of the pool.
How can I fix this?
Gunite pool by the way.

Stripped the WHAT??? Was he born in a barn?
You have a few options-

1) How badly was it stripped?
If there are still some salvageable threading toward the back of the fitting, that may be your best bet. You may have to drain the pool down and scrap away the damaged threading to get to the good threads so the adapter can get a bite on the threads.

2) Custom pipe fix
Draining the pool down some, you may have to get creative and make a custom fitting with another female threaded PVC adapter. It may stick out a little further than it did when it was normal, but if you can live with that, it may save your fitting.

3) Re-do the fitting. - Expensive.
Call a few pool contractors to give an estimate on repairing the female threaded pipe for the Polaris adapter.
They will chip out all the plaster and gunite around the fitting, cut out the broken female adapter and replace it. Patch up the gunite and plaster the area flush with the pool side so it looks good as new.

Actually the threads look pretty good but my Polaris keeps on pulling the
adaptor right out of the wall. I tried using Teflon tape on the adaptor but that
lasted a day.

I will look into being creative using some fittings, it's just me and my wife
that swim in the pool so having a fitting sticking out a little is not a problem.
