I have tried everything to find why the DE is leaching back into the pool.
Checked all of the filter grids...no rips or tears.
Manifold and manifold pipe appear fine.
It's not a suction side issue.
There is not too much DE.
HELP!
Thanks

Re: DE in Pool
I take it that this isn't a new system and you have cleaned your filter many times as you have checked the most obvious things
Have you checked the "O" ring is seated properly or not missing?
Has anything changed recently?

Re: DE in Pool
I have this problem too. I have replaced all the grids, the manifold and o rings. DE comes out of the jets upon pump start up for about 15-20 secs. I was told by pool supply house to add 9 lbs DE after full grid cleaning or 8 lbs after backwash...72 cu Hayward filter.
I am also having a problem retaining chlorine. Total is 1 and free is 0...constantly...
My water is crystal clear and looks fantastic.
I am at a loss to these issues...

Re: DE in Pool
What is the CYA stabiliser level? Too low and you'll not be able to keep chlorine in the pool. Most important chemical in the pool.
