Is this Check valve necessary?

Hi guys I have a question about check valves. I have to re plumb my filter because both my check valves went bad. The one that goes to the solar heat pipe is already replaced and I understand why its necessary but I have another one right where the pressurized water comes out of the filter and am wondering if that one is necessary also. I can't think of a reason it needs to be there and all the plumbing videos I see don't have one there. here's a pic . Thanks for any help.

Generally NRV are used to prevent any water going back
Sometimes they may be used if a SWCG is installed after the filter to prevent freshly chlorinated water going back to the filter or on the pump suction side to help with priming
Most pipes after the filter go straight to the pool returns
If you don't have any equipment after the filter give it a try without the NRV
