My Pool: Above ground 12 ft pool, with sand pump

Too much water coming out of pump

My pump wont start and when I take off the pump lid water rushes out. I have not idea why. Please help!

Because your pump is below the water level, water will flow out when you remove the lid
Check there is power to the pump, a breaker may have tripped.
It could be a bad capacitor
Otherwise you will need an electrician or a new pump

Your not supposed to turn on your pump without lid being on. Because your pump needs a tight suction in order for it to pull the water through.

To stop water from rushing out you need to shut off valves to the pump located on the pool.

But remember that you have to turn them back on (the pump valves) in order for water to get to pump and push through to get back to pool.

Some pumps have a rest button on the plug part. Depends on what pump you have . So look at your manual. If you don't have look it up on YouTube.
