My spider gasket is toast, so I bought a new one and tried to remove the spider gasket, but the thing won't lift. I've used needlenose pliers to remove about 1/3 of it one small chunk at a time, but I'm hoping there's an easier way.
Would WD-40 dissolve the gasket enough and work it's way into the crevices to loosen it?
Other tips?

Re: Removing stuck spider gasket?
It must be well glued in, they normally come out okay
Persevere with it
I wouldn't use anything to try to soften it as it may damage the plastic as well
Maybe a small chisel would help
