Lately we've noticed bits on the bottom of the pool right under where the jet is. Yesterday the pump and heater were making a churning cracking noise so the guy that installed the heater opened everything up and found a TON of these bits clogging up the pump and heater. They look like plastic chips and are green/brown/white. He thinks it could be calcium but I'm wondering if it's bits of a pipe chipping off. Any thoughts??

It's amazing what you can find! If they are calcium, they will dissolve in vinegar, if they are plastic they won't.
