Questions/Advice Needed -- Re-plumbing for a cartridge filter replacement

Postby G8rRob » Fri 06 Jul, 2018 14:03

Greetings everyone.

I am attempting a DIY replacement of my Cartridge Filter and also replacing an off-line chlorinator with an inline one. I recently had the heater professionally replaced, and now there are too many unions between the heater and pool spa-return pipes for me to install the inline chlorinator and a check-valve.

Question #1: I am thinking that to replace that pipe and install these items, I'm going to need to install new diverter valves?

Question #2: Is there anything that I should install to make the maintenance easier the next time around like unions?

Question #3: My main pipes are 2". Will there be any issues with installing the Hayward CL200 (1.5 inch pipe connectors)?

Any answers / tips / advice is appreciated!

Cheers!
