pump drain line

Postby mrhobb » Sun 04 Mar, 2007 12:50

Hello! I have a 35 yr old vinyl lined in ground pool. I don't know anything about the age of the pump. The waste line stays full and drains when I run the pump on any valve setting; filter, Recirc, whatever. On Filter, bubbles come out of the jets, small foamish bubbles. Seems like the two aren't related, but this is my first pool ever and there is much I don't know. Does the valve body need rebuilding periodically? Can it be rebuilt?Thank you for any and all advice!

The short answer is yes most likely the valve can be rebuilt and yes they do need rebuilding from time to time. The long answer is maybe as the age of the pool may match the equipment in which case you are going to struggle to get parts.
