Spa draining into pool

Postby dwieland » Wed 25 Apr, 2007 18:13

Have a spa that sits above and flows into the pool. The equipment sits above the water line. When operating in spa mode everything appears to work fine. When operating in pool mode the spa drains and no suction or circulation occurs. A 90 degree spring check valve is installed and the guts including the spring seem to be fine.

Can't figure out what else could be causing the problem.

Thoughts?

Replace the check valve, the spring maybe bad or it's got an air leak. You probably have common line (return for pool and spa)check valve, find that check valve, or it could be on a spa return fitting (similar to a sink drain)

ahhhhhhhh. After rereading your post, do you have an remote control system ie Aqualink, GoldLine. If so, make sure the valves are turning and that the toggle switch on the valve is in the middle. If they don't, then you need a pro .
