LOSS OF SUCTION

Postby CONNIE1 » Thu 31 May, 2007 07:42

I have DE Filter and hayward pump, above ground 18 X 33. I keep losing pressure, it surges then almost completely stops. Someone told me to take the filter apart and have the "fingers" acid washed???? Never heard of this before. I can't vacuum because there is no water coming into the pool. Any suggestions would be helpful. Don't really want to take the filter apart if I don't have to.....

take it apart and rinse with a garden house all the de powder and dirt, check the grids(fingers) to make sure they are still in one piece. Good Luck make sure you replace the de once it is running.
