installing Hayward SP1056 Hydrostatic Relief Valve
installing Hayward SP1056 Hydrostatic Relief Valve
hi i have an inground gunite pool built in 2006 to florida codes with duel main drains. i have the pool drained for cleaning and thought i would install a Hayward SP1056 Hydrostatic Relief Valve. when i pulled the drain plugs no water drained. its been a week now with both plugs out and not even a a cup of water has drained out. i am assuming that when the pool was built these were cemented in place and are sealed. wondering if i should somehow open it up so there is some drainage. the Hayward SP1056 Hydrostatic Relief Valve cant be effective if there is no path for the water. thoughts or ideas? tia.

Do you know the maximum height of the local water table, that would indicate if the hydrostatic valves would be required.

i know its not required but this pool will sit empty at times and want it for a safety factor. we are on a canal and the top of the pool itself is about 6 foot above water level.

Why will it sit empty?
