Need help identifying brand/model of filter valve

Postby carryon47 » Wed 18 Sep, 2019 01:01

Just bought this house and the existing sand filter valve is broke. Stuck on backwash and is cracked and leaking. Can anybody help me with the brand/model of it? See photo.

It's a pretty common valve seen under the Sandman, Blue Devil, RXClear brands. I believe they are all made by Pentair/Tagelus. Just make sure you get one with the ports all at 90 degree angles (not zero/180 degree angles, like the Haywards) - that way your plumbing connections will be simpler. Alternatively, you can swap it out for a Hayward valve which is more common but will require some rework of the PVC pipes at the filter.
