Can I replace 30 year old + backwash valve with new valve?

This might be a very silly question, my filter and backwash valve are very old, 30 years +. I recently broke my push pull backwash valve, I pushed down to close it and didnt think it was pushed down all the way and the lever snapped and disconnected from the valve. I could just replace the lever (Pentair 14821-0068 handle replacement kit sta-rite bronze valve) for about $200, but I am asking to see if its possible to just replace the entire backwash valve with a newer, easier to use one? Thanks so much!
