Emergency hazard - land sinking

Postby surajone » Thu 09 Jul, 2020 09:24

Hi All - thank you for your help and advice beforehand it is much appreciated as I am very much a novice with this.

I had a brand new inground pool constructed about a year and a half ago - around the pool there is artificial turf. There were two separate contractors one for the pool and one for the turf.

Right after the install after we had some rain the turf started to droop in areas where the pool plumbing has been ran. The turf company came out re-compacted the dirt and fixed the turf. About exactly a year later, After some rain again, we had the same problem, much worse this time. The dropping occurs in the same exact areas where the trenching was done to run the pool plumbing the turf started drooping again. When the turf is pulled back You can clearly see that the land is sinking only in the areas where the trenching was done for the pool plumbing there are no other issues with the artificial turf in the rest of my backyard at all. The pool company insisted that the turf company messed up in properly compacting the dirt prior to their install however the turf company came out retrenched and showed me how the dirt around the plumbing is remaining wet however my pool does not seem to be losing any water so my pool contractor is stating that this is not their issue.

The pool company insisted that the turf company messed up improperly compacting the dirt prior to their install however the turf company came out retrenched and showed me how the dirt around the plumbing is remaining wet however my pool does not seem to be losing any water so my pool contractor is stating again that there is no issue.

FINALLY, When the turf contractor came back out yet again to re-trench and examine, they found this time exposed copper wire being ran without any conduit, which they informed me was an egregious error on the part of the pool contractor now both companies are pointing fingers at each other and no one seems to want to fix this. PLEASE ADVISE!!
