I have a pentagram 1.5 hp optiflo pump 340079.
Been working great. Shut it off to clean basket and now will not start. The motor hums but will not spin. Took apart and impeller spins freely. Help?

Measure the resistand of the coils of the motor.

Buy a new starter/run condenser/capacitor.
