MY POOL IS TOO DEEP

I wonder if I could lower the depth of the water by about half a meter.
It is a gunite pool, 6,2 x 3 mts with depth of 1,8 and 1,5 mts. about 32.000 litres. Unfortunately, was built without steps as we were using it for diving. Obviously would need to lower the intake box but that would be difficult. I was thinking if I could fit another intake box externally fitted lower into the pool with a pipe directly into to pump in order to lower the pool water depth and with a new ladder, enjoy the pool again by being able to walk on it and save on water expense and pool powders, etc,
I will appreciate any ideas.
