1.5" plumbing to the pad

Postby RBM ATL » Sun 24 Jan, 2021 14:02

Repoured a new pad. Supply, return, and polaris are all 1.5" lines that really can't be changed on our old pool without a bulldozer. Re plumbing for filter, heater, pump, and booster pump. Read that I should do all the outside portion in 2" even though the underground lines are 1.5" Thoughts? Have an 8 year old 1.25hp fancy one state pump now that should be replaced. Opinions appreciated.

I wouldn't bother changing to 2" if it was plumbed in 1.5" and it all worked OK
Do you need to change your pump, if you do go for a variable speed
