Leaking Pipe

Postby dchackert » Tue 27 Jul, 2021 17:53

It appears the pipe that leads to the pool jets is leaking. Since it does not appear to be an unscrew and replace pipe anyone know how to repair this?

Is that flexible pipe solvent welded into a fitting
If it is then I don't think solvent welding does the job

No problem solvent welding flexible pipe if you abrade the flex pipe first then cleaner and finally glue. A good chamfer on all pipework is good as it forms a good fillet of glue in front of the pipe rather than removing the glue if the edge is sharp and square.

Cut the flex pipe allowing 1/2" minimum to get a pair of pliers on. Try to push a screwdriver into the space between flex and rigid. Applying a hot air gun to the flex pipe remnants helps release it and pull it out with the pliers.
I may not give you the answer you want to hear, but I will give an honest opinion of your situation as you decribe it.

From my own experience, I will say that the repair of the pipe will solve the problem temporarily. Over time, you will have to replace a piece of pipe.
