Remove multiport valve

Postby Llyod » Mon 04 Apr, 2022 13:14

Hello,

I need to remove the multiport valve. Thought the couplings that connect to it were threaded, but 14" channelocks wont budge it. Is it likely cemented and could I heat it to get them off?

Many thanks in advance.

It shouldn't have been cemented in, but who knows
Heating won't help you will have to cut it out
Why are you removing the MPV?

I would try penetraing oil like WD40 first. Plastic on plastic can stick like you know what to a blanket.
I may not give you the answer you want to hear, but I will give an honest opinion of your situation as you decribe it.

Surely if they were just screwed in then PTFE tape would have been used and that's not sticky
