I was going to use Antel products as these were recommended previously to me, but they appear to want the mortar joints taking out to 12mm which would be such a pain in the ass given I’ve only just filled them all in!

Will check Sika out, well known brand so will see what’s what

Oh, I put a few horizontal distribution bars in today as I had some rebar free - it’s not doing anything else so might as well beef the structure up. I know I don’t have any PI on the line like a pro builder would have but I suppose it’s better to be safe than sorry. only in the upper third of the walls but that’s the only section above ground.

Thats exactly what I used before, unless they have changed it make sure everthing is dry. It stuck like you know what to a blanket on any terracing tiles you didn't want it on but flaked off many a pool surface and not just me, many industry colleagues too.

Was that the Antel render mix, or the paint for the top surface?
I’m not fussed on what product I use as long as it’s sound, will continue to research. Thanks is so much for your help.

It was the epoxy paint for the final coats.

Quick update on this one for you, I’m about 70% there with the wall render, my skimmers only arrived from Spain on Friday so I’m yet to concrete those in but they’ll be done this week.
Pump, filter and heat pump are all here. Epoxy paint and clear coat is on its way (I know you don’t like that Teapot1, but it’ll do for now - might live to regret it!) Coping stones are here. Still a bit of civils work to do around it but I reckon we could be swimming in 3 weeks if the weather stays with us. Fingers crossed!

Oh, and I got two of the low profile Astral skimmers, should keep a nice high water level that way. Thanks for your advice.

Quick query, my skimmers (3.6m ish apart) have a level difference of about 3-4mm, is that alright? I know they’re supposed to be level but the self adjusting flaps in them should deal with that discrepancy shouldn’t they?

Finished the pool last year, we had about a month of use before the winter.

as you can see it was a bit of a mess. Loose laid the slabs around the edge to give the kids something to walk on.

Cracked on again about a month ago and we’re here now. I turned the heater on today.

Will report back with more progress as I make it

That's coming along nicely, well done. It reminds me that I hope to re model mine soon ish and all the work that will involve, for vanity reasons I may rotate my pool direction 90 degrees which means more earth moving machinery.
