Very Frustrated. New Hayward Pump Issue

Postby MarkH » Thu 23 Jun, 2022 20:20

I purchased a new Hayward Super pump 700 1HP pump (new model 6/22/22) and proceed to drop the screw that holds the electrical wire terminal plate into the electric motor housing, cant believe there is a pathway for this to happen..

I'm pretty sure it would be a bad idea to leave the screw in there?

I am able to remove the housing around fan, back off the long screws that hold the motor cover in place on the fan end. The cover pulls off just enough to get crack where I can see the screw but the fan block the ability to get cover off enough to the screw out.

How do I get the fan off so I can remove the housing enough to get the screw out? Any other thoughts?

Please help, cant believe I have to take apart an brand new $700 pump

Thanks in advance

Mark

Do you mean you've dropped a screw inside
Have you tried a magnetised probe

Usually once you remove the screws securing the cowl around the fan it will unclip, it has to because thats how they assembled it??
I may not give you the answer you want to hear, but I will give an honest opinion of your situation as you decribe it.
