Hello all,
I am trying to determine the issue with my grandmother's pool pump. I have attached a youtube link https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Z52-fj4EYRI of a video I took today showing the issue described below. I am not a professional regarding pool repairs, and I am trying to help get the pool working again.
I installed a new pump (the old pump was old and leaking) today. Once I installed the new pump, everything seemed to work as intended. However, when the bowl in front of the pump filled up, the motor slowed and started to make a clicking sound. Once the bowl was primed, it drained instantly, and the clicking noise went away and seemed normal. The clicking noise started again as soon as the bowl filled back up, which continued to happen repeatedly. So, I turned the breaker off until I could get a little direction.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Clicking sound with pump
I suspect you have a suction side air leak preventing the pump to prime fully, this needs to be fixed first before you can sort the clicking
