We just replaced the hose going from the skimmer to the pump which has the resevior container on it. It doesn't fill up with water, yet we will have water coming out the out jet.
We removed the skimmer basket, and got a whirlpool and the resevior fills back up with water. But then it will go down, and you can hear the suction and it will fill back up.
Is this in relation to the fact that we just replaced the hose?? What do we do?

You have an air leak (your pump is sucking air through the cracks).
Tighten your clamps.
