Back pressure when filter system shuts off

Postby Rod » Mon 21 Apr, 2008 14:05

When my filter system shuts off, I get a tremendous back pressure/wash shooting back up my skimmer inlet. It looks like a geiser fountain shooting up. I then loose my pump prime. Any thoughts on causes or cures?

Installing a check valve on pump discharge will stop water flow from reversing after pump shuts down.

I have the same issue did the check valve fix the problem. Did you ever figure out what the problem is?
