skimmer pipe blocked, no suction

Postby nrossit » Thu 08 May, 2008 06:30

After winter, I cleaned the debris from the bottom of my pool using the skimmer inlet for suction. Subsequently, the skimmer inlet has no suction, I suspect the pipe back to the pump is blocked as the pump works fine with the main inlet.

Any ideas how to unblock the pipe?

Get a drain king. They can be found at most any big home improvement store or your local pool supply store. It attaches to a garden hose and you stick it in the skimmer line. It balloons out and forces water in one direction to clear out clogs.

turn off pump open & take out basket then add water hose with drain king attatched to top pipe that goes to skimmer & put it inside & run water which should unclog it.
