Hose - trouble keeping on return valve

I'm having trouble keeping the hose on the reurn valve...it keeps slipping off the valve. What could be the problem...I applied a small amount of vaseline...could that be the reason

Did you use the vaseline to get the hose on? That could be the problem. I would clean all that off and if needed, use warm water on the hose to get it onto the valve.

Tighten hose clamps once it is on the valve (I assume it is held on by clamps)
