Lid Blew Off the Pump

Anyone tell me why the lid blew off the top of my pump and the inside cylinder looking thing is all burnt looking? :shock:

Some where after your pump you developed a clog. This caused the pump to super pressureize and then cavitate. THe water gets super heated and melts all of the parts in side the pump itselft and heats up the pump lid, weaking it, and then blowing it off.

It's pretty impressive if you actually see the thing blow up!
