Cant get backwash valve unthreaded

Postby SDunn1 » Mon 18 May, 2009 23:14

i have a hayward s-160t filter and the backwash leaks and the old owner had put a hayward ball valve on it and the valve has cracked now so i need to replace it but i am unable to get the old one unthreaded from the multi-port due to some blue thread sealant. so i am wondering if anyone would have any tips on how to remove that part would be helpful thanks

If it is thread sealant you just need to get the right tool. There is however blue glue and it would not be the first time I saw someone use glue on a threaded fitting.
