Insalling a new pump

Postby evergin » Fri 21 Aug, 2009 14:42

Any tips on installing and plumbing a new pump. I'm going to go with a Jandy 1 or 1.5 hp pump.
It doesn't seem like too difficult of a job. I have pretty decent plumbing and wiring skills.
If anyone has done this themselves I would appreciate any thing you can tell me.

Thanks

Hi,

The new pump motor probably can be wired for 110 or 220v. Make sure the voltage that you have coming to the pump matches the way the pump motor is wired.

Take advantage of the rebuild to use plenty of unions so you can 1) a store your pump indoors during the winter 2) make it easier to maintain both your pump and filter.
