Steady drip in the waste line

Postby Cwilliams » Tue 05 Oct, 2010 21:12

I just happen to walk by the waste drain line today and noticed a steady drip from the waste line coming from the filter. I shut the pool pump off and noticed that with the pump off, the drip stopped.

Can anyone tell me what could be causing this and how to repair? I would love to fix this myself if simple enough.

Thanks in advance.

Steady drip in the waste line

Probably the spider gasket or seal in the backwash valve. Do you have the circular type of valve or the push/pull?

You could take apart the valve and look at the condition of any gaskets/seals. If they look good, try some pool lube to help the seal.
