found a chipmonck in the pool what to do?

I just scooped a chipmonck from the pool. It smells and seem to have been dead for a couple of days. What can I do to clean the water and make it save to swim in it again? Help

Bring your chlorine up to shock level and keep it there for a day or two.
It should be fine.
